Investor Update: Envion hardware and mining procedures!

News on progress for our production line was published a few days ago and envion explained the decision to start production in a factory here in the EU. This development will have a net positive effect on the speed at which envion scales production and the price per MMU. However, the timeline has changed just a bit to accommodate preparations of the production line.

Mining results: January and beyond

Currently mining with our two MMUs in Berlin. The January revenue from just two MMUs was USD $44,279.43, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Each month more containers will be built, with mass-production starting in March, and we should scale up to over 600 MMUs by July. Hardware will be plugged in to our pre-MMU mining operation as shipments arrive — even before containers roll off the production line — to shorten the period before dividend payouts and utilize every second of possible mining time.

Optimizing hardware profitability

The factory is in the process of building not just the containers and the extensive electrical set-up of those, but the hardware racks which are later installed in the container shells. In order to maximize the profitability of every piece of hardware envion purchases, we are prioritizing the production of the racks so that hardware can be installed and start mining asap.

This pre-installation mining requires that a warehouse be converted into a dust-free environment and to increase the overall energy delivery to the factory building our MMUs. This work is currently underway and should be finished within the next 3–4 weeks. The first hardware shipment will arrive at roughly this time. We aren’t quite as efficient as Toyota’s just-in-time supply chain, but envion is pretty close.

The first shipment of hardware is a sample shipment that will be used to optimize the pre-installation mining production line and will be installed in the first containers. New, larger hardware shipments will leave China after the Chinese New Year holiday is over and will arrive as power delivery to the factory is increased.

What hardware will be delivered?

We don’t expect that envion will reveal too many specifics with regards to hardware orders. It can be very risky to disclose hardware deals as secrecy is sometimes in the contract and it’s very easy to compromise other negotiations by revealing business in a VERY small market. Everybody familiar with the mining industry will probably agree.

When envion talks either directly to producers or to brokers there is a calculus of price, power, and delivery that is very tricky to navigate and even then deals are typically available only for 2–3 hours for each shipment. Knowing what other products we are ordering and how much volume we are getting from other sources can all affect what we pay and what we have access to. Using your ICO funds wisely means staying discrete.

Since envion will be in ongoing negotiations for hardware for the next months, investors may get glossy photos when hardware arrives, but little in terms of order size etc. unless we know it’s 100% safe to reveal and won’t compromise other sales. Obviously, when MMUs start rolling off the production line and mining operations are in full gear, it will be easy to see just what hardware is up and running.

Dividends from mining?

The complexity of running an industrial mining operation should be coming clear by this point and we’re glad to share developments with you as we progress towards full-scale deployment of the ICO-funded MMUs. It’s going to be a fast process from our side to reach as many MMUs as possible by the first months of summer and we will share all the developments with our token holders along the way.
