Valentine’s day is coming up.

Your friends are planning couply stuff; roses, chocolate, a candle light dinner

Damn it! I have a wild imagination.

What about you? Do you have plans?

Of course not, you are single!

I am not a mind reader. But, you will probably do one of these things:

• Go berserk on couples: You complain all day long about couples and love while you convince yourself you are awesome and you don’t need such sleazy stuff.
• Ghost out on the whole thing: You do your best to avoid the topic at all cost. When you are home , you kick off 50 shades of grey, prepare some popcorn… well, you know the rest.
• Ignore it: You just don’t care about it. It’s not a big deal. It’s just another day.

Sad, right?

No worries, you are not alone.

For instance, I will be spending valentine’s day differently:

I will write.

For a guy who was born on Valentine’s day, this is a huge deal.

Can I be honest with you for a moment?

I have always wanted to be a writer with a best seller. Whether I like it or not, it won’t happen over night. I need to polish my craft.

Blog posts won’t write themselves after all.

Here is the surprise:

Though I am single, I am happy.

Do you know why?

Because I don’t need a specific day of the year to express my love for the people I care about.

Because everyone deserves love; family, friends and even strangers.

We are all humans, Sorry Saint Valentine.

Because relationships are like desert : It’s good to have them. It’s ok to pass.

Because relationships won’t make your crappy life better. Hard work will do so.

Because you can’t meet the woman or the man of your dreams if you are not theirs.

Speaking of dreams, remember the old dream you have been putting on hold for years?

You want to be a singer, but you are not in the mood to practice.

You want to become a software engineer, but you are not in the mood to write code.

You want to start a business, but you are afraid of failure.

I understand.

Our minds are designed to keep us in the comfort zone.

Forget about the lame excuses:

It’s not the right time.

I need money.

I am still young.

It’s now or never… The time to start working on your lifelong dream!
